Nur leider Gottes wird die ganze Sache einen Haken haben. Du wirst dich bei diesem Film tierisch langweilen. Aber dafür hast du ja deine Freundin."

* Some fans see it as a story about Bella and Edward's true love conquering all.
* Most critics of the series (and even a small portion of Twilight readers) see Edward and Bella's relationship as twisted, controlling and abusive. For these people, Edward comes off as not an impossibly beautiful vampire Romeo, but a self-hating, bipolar, incredibly fucked-up mess of a boyfriend *
One of the more notable purveyors of this interpretation is Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward in the movies and has been vocal about his disgust with the character. Even more notably, Pattinson played Edward as this interpretation and made note of this in one of his interviews.
. His behavior towards, around, and about Bella can be seen as very similar to the way a sexual predator would behave towards his obsession. There are two camps of interpretations: those who find this somehow to be "sweet", or "just really protective," and those who find it incredibly disturbing that such sick tendencies are considered to be positive, seemingly only because Edward is attractive. Likewise Bella is seen by some not the sweet, selfless girl Meyer tries to tell us she is, but as a shallow, haughty bitch with no regard for the feelings of others.
* Also the relationship between Jacob and Renesmee, Bella's weird half-human-half-vampire child. Jacob imprints on her, causing both to fall in love with each other, when she is still a baby. Also, Renesmee will never look older than 18. Unfortunate Implications makes it feel like pedophilia to quite a few readers.
* The Spoony One suggests that Bella is a selfish, heartless sociopath who has zero empathy for anybody else and is just stringing Edward and Jacob along because she finds the way they bend over backwards to please her amusing.
