@Johnny: I think you´re right, because the graphic can´t be very good in 2D Games.
So the Maker of these 2D-Games prefer a good Story.
They want to correct the bad graphic with a good story-line.

Often a 3D-Game doesn´t have a good story, because all the players look at the graphic.
But at the moment, there are some 3D-Games with a wonderful graphic and an acceptable story.
