Square Enix und tri-Ace haben soeben Star Ocean: The Divine Force auf Sonys State of Play angekündigt. Bisher nur für Playstation 4 und 5, aber möglich dass noch andere Plattformen folgen. Das Zeitfenster für die Veröffentlichung wurde großzügig mit 2022 angegeben.
In Japan wird das Spiel als der sechste Teil geführt.
The “Double Hero” system returns in which the story spanning the stars and beyond will unfold from the perspective of each protagonist, one from an advanced civilization (sci-fi) and the other from an underdeveloped planet (fantasy). Events that unfold throughout the story as well as the ally characters you end up with will differ based on the protagonist the player chooses.
In this game, characters have the freedom to move around 360 degrees, and can even fly through the skies.
Players can fly in the sky and traverse three-dimensionally through one of the largest fields ever in the series.
Whether they explore by hopping around rocky stretches and rooftops, or seamlessly enter battles after jumping off cliffs, more than ever, the game will allow players greater freedom in their approach in both battles and their adventures.

Ich muss schon sagen dass es mich nach Star Ocean 5 und dem eingestellten Mobile-Titel etwas überrascht, dass die Firmen einen neuen Versuch für ein vollwertiges Star Ocean wagen. Doch obwohl man Teil 5 das geringe Budget an jeder Ecke anmerkt, hatte ich trotzdem meinen Spaß damit.
In Teil 6 scheinen Raumschiffgefechte nun sogar in echten Zwischensequenzen abzulaufen und nicht nur wie in alten Star Trek-Serien auf der Kampfbrücke, auf der die Offiziere einfach nur sagen was gerade passiert (könnte aber auch einfach nur das Intro sein und im Rest läuft die Präsentation wieder auf Sparflamme).^^
