Random thoughts:
*Ninja run is fun and should always be used for moving around. If not then you are playing the game wrong.
*Not much in the ways of combos or cancels that I could find. A lot of the special moves like the Stinger or Impact Palm have too much recovery to get stylish with. Its not that type of game.
*I was told there was no lock on but there is and its the correct way to play especially against the bosses/singular enemies.
*Slide into cut mode is too good and is the most efficient way to kill fodder enemies. You can get S ranks easily. There is no real incentive to go for any other method of combat against fodder.
*The spine rip sequence takes too long and is too frequent. It breaks the flow of the combat. Easily my least favorite part of the game.
*The final boss was godlike. If the demo was any indication then this game will have some amazing boss fights. A lot of the combat tools are designed with bosses in mind so it was fun experimenting with parry, palm and launcher against it.
*Camera during lock on near walls spazzes out dramatically. Shades of DS2 here. This will really discourage lock on play.
