Hier nochmal ein paar offizielle Aussagen von Tom, die ich sehr interessant finde...

To address some common questions thus far:

PC version only. Sorry, but we couldn't swing the PSP, PS3, or Vita versions of the game (and all for completely different reasons, to boot -- none of which I'm really at liberty to talk about in any great detail, so you'll just have to trust that we tried our best!).
Localization duties are not being handled by Carpe Fulgur as with SC, but by more or less the same team responsible for the Trails of Cold Steel games. So if you liked the way Cold Steel turned out, you've got nothing at all to worry about with 3rd!
Nothing is being edited out or removed. In fact, as others have said, I believe Sara will even be attempting to add the previously PSP-exclusive elements to the PC release -- though of course, nothing can be guaranteed there, especially at this early stage. It's just sort of an idea/goal at this point.

So, yeah... to all y'all who said there was no way in hell 3rd would ever see the light of localization, all I can say is, EAT IT. Heheheheh...

Oh yeah, one more frequently asked question to quash:

No Japanese voices, sorry! As with FC and SC, 3rd will include English voices only, as once again, the rights to the Japanese voices were not available. (Wait'll you hear the English voice for Gilbert, though -- sooooooo good!)

I understand handheld gamers are upset by the PC-only nature of this announcement, but let's be clear here: we announced the game for PC only because that is literally our only option. Or I should really say *the* only option, since no other company would have any more luck with the other versions than we did.

We explored all other possibilities for releasing this game, including PSP, PS3, and Vita alike, and have determined after much effort that they are all completely nonviable. It was literally PC-only, or no Trails 3rd. Period. I understand that's a tough concept to accept, especially considering I can't really give you guys a full explanation as to why these versions are nonviable -- but you're going to have to trust me on this one! We tried. We really did.

And if anyone truly believes not releasing the game at all would be in some way better than releasing it on PC only, they'll have 100,000+ Trails fans to answer to on that point. I'm pretty sure the fanbase would rather get the game in some playable form, given the options... and I'm also pretty sure they would not take too kindly to someone selfishly suggesting they should be deprived of that experience.

Those of you who say you don't play games on PC, I'd like to point out that the majority of you *can* play games on PC, you're just choosing not to. And that is certainly your choice to make. But I'd honestly suggest just... giving it a try. I used to think gaming on PC was a sucky alternative to gaming on a console... but then again, I also used to think gaming on a handheld was a sucky alternative to gaming on a console. It was all about playing games on my living room TV, and if I couldn't manage that, I didn't want to play those games at all.

...Then a game I really wanted to play came out exclusively for PC. So... I grit my teeth, I bought it on Steam, and I played it. And you know what? The experience was absolutely no different than playing on my living room TV. My awesome Logitech controller is actually even more comfortable in my hands than my PS3 controller, in fact, so it's almost BETTER in a lot of ways. I've actually chosen to play certain games on PC over console now, to no one's surprise more than my own.

The PC is a perfectly viable platform, and the experience of becoming a PC gamer has made me realize how foolish I was whenever I turned down a game solely due to its platform -- because ultimately, it's not about the platform, it's about the game. If the game is good, you could literally be playing it on a TI-85 calculator and it wouldn't matter.

This should be a happy day for the Trails fanbase. So let's take back Trails Day, shall we? Let's make this the happy occasion it should've been from the start!

One thing I'm left curious about is why XSEED decided to announce this now. It seems really early. Not that it's a bad thing by any means, transparency is great.
Simple: It's the anniversary of our first Trails release! And what better way to celebrate than to show all our cards and let the fanbase know that, thanks to their support, the Trails series is continuing in English with a vengeance?

In this case there is going to be a general positiveness regarding the future of the series in English since the only games remaining are Crossbell. And Brittany seems plenty confident about the possibility of, ehem, getting over that barrier.
Brittany is more confident about that than anyone else in the company, I think, as there are so many "barriers to get over" (it's really hard to avoid that phrase now! Heheh) with those two games... but if the series continues to do well for us, I think the rest of us will gain a bit more confidence in that possibility as well.

It's definitely too early to speculate on Zero and Ao, though. We are, as always, taking this one step at a time. Or I guess two, since we're currently working on two different Trails games at the same time -- but that's probably more the exception to the rule than it is the rule itself.

For now, we're just letting Zero and Ao stew a bit, and we're going to play the rest of the series by ear as time goes on. Basically, this announcement DOES NOT mean Zero and Ao are sure things down the line, so I wouldn't suggest anyone get their hopes up about that quite yet. It would be cool if we could work on them and finish off the series to date, but the feasibility of doing so is still rather shaky.

Ultimately, you guys just need to show your support, and trust(/hope/pray) that we'll handle the rest!
