It's gorgeous and runs smoothly for the most part.
Loading times are reasonable and not as bad as the 1up video review states. Transitions between maps are only a second or two with major cutscenes and traveling between zones loading at 6~8 seconds tops.
There are some noticeable slowdowns however. Any time when I try to attack as many as six enemies the framerates will take a plunge. I just hit chapter 3 and some of the larger fights could really slow things down when all the enemies are using different attacks.
I don't really have a problem with the slowdowns though, it really stop me from playing the game. But some people might find the slowdowns in large battles to be distracting.
The battle is very fast-paced with very heavy emphasis on item synthesis, cooking, and alchemy. Unlike Princess Crown, Odin Sphere can be very difficult if you don't rely on items.
