After hours of trying every possible Chrono Cross POPS/ID combination I finally found the perfect one!
No lag, no crashes on STATUS, BOSSES nor PARTY JOIN!
Use either POPS 3.40 or 3.51 (ex. through 3.52 M33-2 popsloader) with GAMEID SCUS 94640 (from Syphon Filter 3).
Works wonders! No more crashes on STATUS/PJ/PS in 3.51 and no more crashes on Boss fights in 3.40.
Kudos to all the people from 'RE2 fix works with FF8' thread which kind of motivated me to go through all this.

You might also want to use Psychospacefish's DISCCHANGE patch, since the game does not allow you to save before asking to switch to DISC 2.

If you are too lazy or newb to extract needed prx's for POPSLOADER 3.52 M33 then you can find the whole, ready to install pack on psp-hacks dot com forum's, HACKS&CRACKS section. Look for my post.
Update
Apparently the fix does not work with 3.52. 3.40 and 3.51 are the only options. Use popsloader if needed.
