Zitat
Forgive me if I'm not the first to post this, but I just heard this story at EB Games and I have to share.
Apparently the latest Morrowind product was delayed. The reason? "The game is too intelligent." The guy said there were two areas in particular in which the AI was too human.
The first is regarding a minotaur who constantly wanders throughout the map at will, carrying the best weapon in the game. One of the quests is to kill the minotaur, and you recieve it by talking to a unicorn, who gives you an item that allows you to track the minotaur. In playtesting, the unicorn was always dead when the players reached it, so they set up a camera to watch the unicorn and discovered that it was being murdered by the minotaur, so they put a camera on the minotaur. The minotaur was talking to NPCs, including those who lead the player to the unicorn, and it went and killed the unicorn so the player couldn't find it.
The other is just as rad; the NPC who gives you a set of missions on which the story is dependant was written to be in love with a girl in his village who didn't love him back. When the playtesters got to him, he was always dead, so again they watched him with a camera to see what happened. He would apparently try with the girl while the player is elsewhere, and after being repeatedly shot down, he gets so depressed that he kills himself.
I have no confirmation of this story, but it's entirely plausible, and if it's true, it totally fucking rules.
