Hier mal ein paar Impressionen von mir zu FF9, leider nur in Englisch:
I never felt so involved in an atmosphere! I can remember exactly...how I felt when I saw the pigeons in the beginning fmv...and Alexandria...and then playing Zidane and then again a FMV and seeing Vivi looking up to the ship O_o...!
And then the logo...which appears after the ship mirrors at the palace-stone O_o....omg!
And this music....the first battle music with Zidane! Violins...and ....omg...well! The whole game continues with this genious atmosphere.
I can remember losing Blanc in the Forbidden Forest ...O_o I was sooooo stunned...and then coming to villages and travelling with little trains...or ships...and over mountains...and coming to mountain stations...it's all a dream for me .... video gaming should be like that!
Really....it was so damn great....O_o finding Garnet on the top of the Lindblum palace and singing O_o and again the pigeons....or just her development away from the naive princess ...when she cuts her hair....seeing that and knowing how she changes. Or when Vivi sees the other wizards dying and almost falling down the Ship! Or meeting Freia with Zidane in a pub in Lindblum O_o...and all these secrets...the secret post mog station...or the chocobo heavens....well all...just great.
Could talk like that on and on!
Characters are really important, I have never seen that great character design in a game like in FF9. And atmosphere and the spirit....and the world I'm in. I love special places etc. and when it has these earthy (german: urig) spirit. And very important: When I see the love that has been brought into the design of everything. So the words the people speak to the details in these unique places...and this music...and this flair....flair is so important. Everything I see in Final Fantasy 9 is made with unconditional love for this project.
When I reach the station by cable railway with Garnet and Steiner in the mountains and wait in this little tiny unique place...for the next cable railway to cross the boarder land....a waiting room and it's grand architecture...and there is this ticket check...and..you feel like breathing the same air the people there do...then there will probably never be another.
