Craig Zablo: Do you ever consider revisiting "The Bodyguard" or "Maggie's Eyes" [two unproduced screenplays that Sly wrote]?

SYLVESTER STALLONE: Well, "The Bodyguard" could work. I don't know if it's right for me because, you know, you write it in a certain time in your life when you're thinking like that, so that may be a naiveté. I would revisit them to direct. But I'm spending a lot of time on Rambo right now. That, that's really an important film because I think that action films have somewhat gone out of favor or just gone out of style. Today it's more fantasy, more sci-fi, more colorful action characters. It's not so much flesh and blood. So I, I'd like to explore Rambo in a way that it's almost an homage to action films because I don't think they're gonna stick around the way they were...[with]such a force, such a presence like in the 80's and 70's and, you know, up into the 90's.

So doing Rambo's going to be a real challenge because it's kind of like a, you know, what you call a handmade, hands on film. Not a lot of CGI. It's things that are actually feasible you know. I think it's great what they do with "Spider-Man" and "X-Men"... it's very creative. But I think this would also be a challenge too.

The worst film I’ve ever made by far… maybe one of the worst films in the entire solar system, including alien productions we’ve never seen… a flatworm could write a better script then STOP! OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT. In some countries – China, I believe – running STOP! OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT once a week on government television has lowered the birth rate to zero. If they ran it twice a week, I believe in twenty years China would be extinct. Does that put it in perspective, Eric P.?

6. Here's my question. Two-fold.....

I just finished watching all five Rocky DVDs back-to-back to prepare myself for the final installment. Enjoyed it thoroughly -- part II is still my absolute favorite. Now, all five movies seem to be one big whole, with one exception: Rocky IV. It didn't have any Mickey, it didn't have Bill Conti doing the score, it didn't have the standard opening fanfare, it just seems.....different, a bit "out of place".

Do you agree with this and if so, was this all intentional?

Now how will the final movie fit in the series, now that there's no Adrian, no Mickey, and no Apollo?

The reason ROCKY IV seems a little disjointed is because I was having a conflict with Bill Conti at the time and decided to go in a different direction, which I’m sorry for. Also, I think the whole premise of the film was based too much on “the fight” and not the personal struggles that preceded the fight. If I had to do it all over again, I would’ve hired Bill Conti, married Ivan Drago and punched out Brigitte Nielsen.
