Zitat
One of three new science fiction TV series launched in early 1993, this was the only one not to survive. Both the others became considerable success stories, namely Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Babylon 5. (Although Babylon 5 did not become a series until 1994).
Space Rangers only survived for a mere four episodes on US TV although as with Something Is Out There more episodes were completed and later shown in Australia. Produced with a substantial effects budget and a tongue in check style which subtlely parodies many other science fiction series and movies, it has much to recommend it. Space Rangers was created by Pen Densham, the writer behind Robin Hood: Princes of Thieves and many other movies.
Set in the 22nd century, this series follows the exploits of a group of police/rangers stationed at a remote outpost on a planet far from earth. The outpost is somewhat cynically called Fort Hope and is situated on the Planet Avalon.
