Zelda News:

Yesterday Nintendo unleashed what had been in hiding for some time now, a mature sequel to the Legend of Zelda series for the GameCube. What was seen blew most gamers away, but no information besides the trailer was divulged to the public. The details are now available, and they are quite surprising.

Firstly, the latest Zelda game is a mix of old and new. To calm any fears, this title is indeed a new adventure, as opposed to a remake of an older game. As well, the game is running on an altered version of the Wind Waker engine, so much of the mechanics will be familiar to players.

But that's not to say Nintendo will only be showing old stuff. Naturally the game has some interesting new features, such as Link's ability to slash at enemies directly from his saddle on Epona (assuming that's Epona). A tweaked camera system will allow for more flexibility when navigating small areas, while ensuring proper view when fighting enemies.

Perhaps what is the most interesting bit of news is the man behind the game. Neither Shigeru Miyamoto nor Eiji Aonouma - directors of Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker respectively - will be responsible for the development of Link's latest adventure. Instead, they will produce the game. An unnamed director will be managing the sequel, so it's interesting to see what direction this title will head in.

Hopefully we'll learn more about this potential blockbuster as E3 goes on.

Also ist dieses Zelda auch nicht Aonouma's neues Spiel. Interessant was er dann neues macht. Und vor allem wer jetzt für Zelda verantworlich ist.... Silicon Knights?
