"Representative Tomoyoshi Watanabe of the Liberal Democratic Party apologized to the Diet today after it was revealed that he was absorbed in a game on his mobile phone during a House of Representatives general assembly.

Watanabe is chairman of the Committee on Parliamentary Rules and Administration, an important role that makes him fully responsible for the House's agenda during assembly. This has led to harsh questioning of what responsibility he will take for playing games during the assembly, an issue that goes beyond merely neglecting Diet proceedings."
