Namco producer Akira Yoshizumi has confirmed in the latest issue of Japanese Nintendo Dream magazine that another game in the Tales RPG series is currently in production. He also noted that Namco Tales Studio will continue to work with animation company Production I.G on this project. In a recent Famitsu poll, most Japanese gamers liked Tales of Symphonia more than Mario Kart: Double Dash and Final Fantasy X-2.

The path of this next Tales game however is uncertain. It could very well go back to a 2D series like it did in the PS2 title Tales of Destiny 2 or it could follow that of Tales of Symphonia and be 3D real-time worlds and characters. Akira Yoshizumi has not yet decided which console the game will be on though. Tales of Symphonia is due out April 15th for North America.
