I think the biggest takeaway you should get from that blog post is that Falcom VERY SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED that we release Sen now. And they weren't subtle about it! We didn't go to them, they came to us, and they were pretty insistent. They wanted us to release Sen, and they weren't going to take no for an answer. Honestly, I'm willing to bet that if we HAD said no, they would've taken the game to someone else and had them publish it here instead -- they seemed THAT gung-ho about the release.
Falcom is clearly very proud of the Sen games, and really wants the world to play them. And despite any misgivings we or the fans may have... I mean, we really can't say no to that, can we? We've developed a really good relationship with Falcom, and they rarely ask us for anything. The last thing they specifically asked us to do that I can recall was during our localization of Ys Origin -- they asked us to make it so Toal's route unlocked after completing only one of the two other routes, as opposed to unlocking after completing both of them like in the Japanese version.
We complied with their request then, and ever since, it's just been us doing the requesting, and Falcom saying "yes" to practically everything we throw at them. They've been so good to us, it would make no sense for us to turn them away when they not only offer us a game to work on, but ASK us to work on it.
And while Kondo-san's statements about the series continuity and the ability to play the games out of order may conflict with what others have been saying, I can tell you right now that it wasn't just PR speak. The only people present in that meeting were Kondo-san, Ken and Brittany, and as I understand it, Kondo-san answered Brittany's question in a lot of detail. He's the co-writer of the entire Kiseki series, and he knows its lore like the back of his hand. And he sincerely feels that Sen can be played before 3rd, Zero or Ao. He wasn't making that up for our benefit.

Er, because they're good games that people will really like? I mean, that's ultimately why we release ANY game, and the Crossbell titles are widely thought of as the best in the series. I have no doubt whatsoever that they'd sell, get reviewed very highly, and be very popular titles.
They'd also take forever to work on, though, which is why we can't just be like, "Oh, don't worry, they're coming for sure!" But you guys have a very, very vocal supporter of them in Brittany -- she has repeatedly told us "I will die for Kiseki!", and she's constantly trying to push every single game in the series on us, finding new ways to justify the cost and localization time, coming up with new suggestions on release models and PR moves we can try to increase awareness, etc. She is the best cheerleader for this series that could possibly exist, and I've no doubt that eventually, she will break down Ken's resolve (aided by what will no doubt be good sales on SC and Sen, as I can't imagine either game won't be a big seller for us) and they will find their way into our release lineup.
My personal opinion is, it's only a matter of time....Zitat von Tom
Zero and Ao may happen in the future, but the Evolution releases are highly unlikely -- at least for the moment. There are "too many cooks in the kitchen," as it were -- too many companies involved. And the amount of voice-acting in those games is insane. If we couldn't get the voice rights for the Japanese, we'd have to dub it (we aren't about to cut features from any game we release; that's not our way), and dubbing it would just be way more money than we could possibly manage. And as we've noted in the past, Kickstarter is just not a viable option for us -- it would come across as highly unprofessional and could cause our Japanese business partners to lose faith in us.
The future is unknown, so this could change -- but for right now, I just don't see the Evolution games happening....
