The Digimon franchise has found a really solid revival of sorts the last couple of years with the Digitmon Adventure Tri series of films that got it a lot of worldwide attention. Now, at an event in Japan yesterday according to ANN, the creative behind it is ready to move to a new phase.
The plan is for a new Digimon Adventure movie that’s currently in production as part of the larger ongoing 20th-anniversary period that will focus on the characters as they age up a bit. The brief visual that was shown at the event presented the character of Taichi at age twenty-two, which will give the franchise a very different feeling.
No timeline is set for when the film will hit but it brings back the same producing team and has Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru returning as the character designer.
