Well, just hear me out. The effect of the bill will be to kill things like Shounen Jump, because things like Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto will be reclassified as 18+, and the teenagers who are the target audience won't be able to buy them anymore. BUT. The porn is unaffected because the adults will continue to buy them, right? So that's where the money is going to be, and that's where the creators will be going. When the big studios die and go out of business, all that intellectual property is gonna be up for grabs. We might be looking at a future down the road where all anime is porn, or at least include hentai elements so that the 18+ audience will buy them, since if you're gonna get an 18+ label slapped on your story for having a teenager killing vengeful spirits with a giant sword, you MIGHT AS WELL go all the way and throw in a scene where the teenager gets laid with the loli ghost, too. We've already seen some hints of this trend already happening, what with things like Mnemosyne, which was ostensibly a show about guro, but they threw in a full on sex scene in the last episode for kicks anyway, because they were already on the AT-X channel with an 18+ rating.
Hypothetically speaking, of course. But this is strangely reminding me of when they decided to censor genitals and caused porn to become even more hardcore by creating the pre-public hair (loli) and tentacle fetishes.
