Sorry for the Block of text...
Hi there I'm a Canadian who goes by TheErrantShepherd, I've recently gotten back into the rpg maker scene,(used to be a regular on GamingGroundZero, hanging out there but sadly kind of dead.) and I came across the brilliance that is Velsarbor... I really have no idea why I didn't try this before... I think I was even around at the time it came out on GGZ.
So, I've tried it in German... sadly despite having some German friends I do not understand at all without the aid of Google-Translate.(sad, I know)
Then, I found out about the French translation! We have to take French classes in our school in Canada, so we English speakers at least know a few terms... Now I can sort of understand it, rather than the basic plot I was able to gather from watching what was happening in the original version.
I was kind of sad to learn there is no English translation, so I've started my own like a true obsessive person despite knowing not being fluent in French and completely hopeless in German...
I've found that it works out alright when I cross reference translations via Google translate of French and German versions. My goal is to translate all the event messages and pictures as well as list where to find the events and pictures to make translation into possibly other languages quicker and simpler.
My question is... is this alright? I would think that Salmon, or Lachsen as I know him would be happy to have a larger audience, and I know that there are those in the English RPGmaker community who would love to play and understand Velsarbor. (assuming I don't give up.)
...so, yeah... guess I'm asking for a blessing/permission. Once again, love the game... literally the most technically impressive and ambitious rm2k/or otherwise project I have ever seen... very inspirational... and that's all I got to say...
EDIT: also, my apologies if this would be better as a private message.(wasn't able to find an option for that...might have been due to the translator though)
