I've been playing it now for half an hour. So this is sufficient reason for me to give you my first impressions.
There are many positive things about the game. But let's do first things first.
So first the plot: I read the story and it seems to be a cliché of clichés. A typical fantasy plot with no opportunities for any twist in it. With typical fantasy heros suffering from typical fantasy problems. So the narration has to be very excellent to deal with a classical story.
Please don't get me wrong: I like typical, classical fantasy stories - the only problem is that these stories have to be interesting and assembled by good characters.
The game presentation of the plot is actually better than the summary - the only problem about is that you introduce several characters in a very "quick" manner. Just five minutes you follow the way home of some purple haired girl - then you stuck together with Zach and John and get introduced in Zach's desires whereupon the plot pivots to Alex and Omega who discuss about the fact that their world is changing...
Yes, that is a bit (too) fast and makes it a bit hard to follow the (maybe complex) story.
But enough reproval. Now lets turn to the facts why your game is going to be an excellent game:
The details - they are wonderful - the areas incredible atmospheric. There are birds that cast their shadows over the land - butterflies, many different kinds of flowers and other botanical stuff, pigeons that fly away by touching them, and many branched trails with ladders, gaps, cascades, bridges... Moving clouds at the place where Zach and John talk. These things - I'm sure - awake the spirit of adventures of many many players and they may go for more. Brilliant. If you get by linking the adventuring with an interesting story and complex characters you might hit the jackpot in RPG making. I'm sorry that most of the dialogues appearing in the first half an hour are quite lame. There is plenty of text but too little is revealed about the protagonists. The knowledge of the characters' weight is of no avail.
The other great thing is the fantastic soundtrack. Is it selfmade? It brings a good atmospheric mood. A really good choice to put *.mp3-files into. And 137 MB is not too big. My game will have, if finished, 4000 MB. So don't worry. It took me only five (!) minutes to download.
I will play your game longer and after that I will tell you more. As I told you before these lines express only my first look. The next time I can be more precisely. Okay, I'll go back - Omega has to deliver some really important letter. Lets see what happens then... Aha, Alex unsheathes his sword. It looks like he's gonna kill Omega. No, he only gives him this sword as a gift... But it looks a bit dangerous...
Bye for now,
