Hype, Hype, Hype....

Zitat Zitat von Bebpo
Act 4 still. Probably 20+ hours to go on first run.

Short impressions:
Story:
+Best story since XG/XS. Writing is great, characters have better development than any other games, and the plot is solid.
-Maybe too many cutscenes when you just want to get in and kill things. You could get on a bus and take out the game only to find you don't even make it to a single battle before your ride is over.

Gameplay:
+Good battle system, good loot, good leveling system, save anywhere, warp anywhere, nice looking dungeons, long game
-AI is shit horrible (only affects super optional bosses where you need them), game is easy outside super optional bosses
-No wifi play to make up for shit AI
-Game is almost too big. I can't even make it through an entire chapter of dungeon on 1 battery charge. Nice that you can save anywhere, but it just doesn't feel like you've accomplished much unless you do a whole chapter dungeon at one play. So basically requires 6-8 hour time spots. Playing 20 mins here and there probably won't be very enjoyable.

Graphics:
+Environments are better looking than any other DS game
-2d art is ok, not great. 3d art is same.

Music:
+Best rpg soundtrack since XG

If it had Wifi it'd be the best game since the renaissance but as is it's probably just the best game on DS so far.

XG/XS have the best developed non-cliche characters in gaming IMO. They are really interesting people with a lot of depth to them and it makes their dialogue and interactions with others very enjoyable to watch/read. Soma Bringer has that too with its cast. Very intelligently written. XG/XS also have very detailed and interesting worldviews that these character inhabit. SB has that too. So the characters and the setting are very interesting, intelligent, and entertaining. The main plot is dunno, cause like XG/XS you aren't really sure of the plot until it's over as it's mainly just build up with mysteries. But like XG/XS the build up is intriguing and makes you want to unravel the world mythology and what's going on.
Meine Güte, das Ding _muss_ unbedingt lokalisiert werden. Definitiv mein most wanted JRPG.
