At its press conference earlier this week, Microsoft made the announcement that Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer (known as winning Eleven to us) and EA's FIFA Soccer would both see a year's exclusivity on the Xbox 360, making its next-gen console "the platform" for soccer fans. This was seemingly a huge win for Microsoft, considering how popular Soccer is in the European and Asian territories.
Now, however, we're starting to hear a different story. Speaking with Winning Eleven producer/creator Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka earlier today, we learned that Microsoft made claims that were untrue. "The presentation was misleading," he told us. "We never said exclusive for one year on the next-gen platforms. We said this year. We were agreed that it was this year."
According to Takatsuka, Microsoft's claims have caused some issues for Konami (with Sony, no doubt), and he definitely wants to set the record straight. Winning Eleven is exclusive to the 360 for this year, but it's likely a case of necessesity (the PS3 game, which he confirmed is being worked on, isn't far enough along in development) rather than some major exclusivity deal with Microsoft. The PS3 version could ship as early as next spring, he admitted, though no timeframe has been set yet. The only thing certain is that it will absolutely not release before January 1, 2007.
Tja ist wohl nichts mit einem 1 Jahr Exclusive für Winnig eleven^^

Sony Begins PS3 Offensive
The blitz kicks off a few weeks before the Tokyo Game Show.
August 25, 2006 - Following months of unbearable silence, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan is at last on the offensive, with a PS3 PR campaign now hitting game magazines and websites across the Pacific. Sadly, the updates in the likes of Famitsu Weekly and Dengeki PlayStation and on sites like Impress Watch and Famitsu.com have been devoid of new information, but with the flood gates opening, we're sure new details will begin to emerge on the 27 PS3 games set to be playable at the late September Tokyo Game Show.
The company's Online PlayStation destination has done its own part with an attractive teaser site for the major SCEJ Tokyo Game Show titles. This site doesn't offer anything really news worthy in terms of new game details, but just for the heck of it, we thought we'd provide you with a link so that you can see the pretty artwork.
We were able to pull just one new tidbit from the site. The Eye of Judgment, the PS3's first EyeToy game, now has a subtitle: Conquerors of 9 Fields. The game is said to support 1 to 2 players. Separately from the Sony site, the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly reports that Sony is planning on releasing the game as part of a bundle with the EyeToy and a deck of cards.
The site lists "Gran Turismo Series" as being set for display at the Tokyo Game Show. The site seems to definitely be refering to the actual next Gran Turismo retail product, as it lists a release date and price (both TBA). However, the screens shown at the site are from Gran Turismo HD, an E3-only demo that Polyphony prepared for the May show, and are marked as such. Will we get actual hands-on time with the true next generation GT at TGS, or will Sony give Japanese players a chance at GT HD?
Finally, we were able to get some neat quotes from Sony's Phil Harrison via an interview conducted in the latest Dengeki PlayStation. First, rubber ducks! Given Sony's tinkering with rubber duck demos at its last two PS3 press conferences, one might have walked away with the impression that Harrison likes ducks. The tall Brit addressed the issue straight forward, telling the magazine, "To be honest, I don't like rubber ducks!"
Harrison also made some comments on Sony's PS3 lineup, saying, "The common area for all the titles is that they're scheduled to have functions that use the network in some form, be it large scale multiplayer play or downloads." Looks like PS3 will indeed be online from day one!
