Nicht souverän aber immerhin fährt Patrick Wolf weitere Punkte ein. Der 5:2-Sieg wird allerdings kaum reichen, um noch an Platz 2 zu kratzen.

Besonders nicht, wenn sich die Editors gegen Aereogramme sogar durchsetzen. Riecht nach dem Weiterkommen für die Editors nach dem knappen 4:2!
Gruppe Album B: Polarkreis 18 - "Polarkreis 18" vs. The White Stripes - "Icky Thump"
Nach 3 Niederlagen in Folge musste auch endlich mal ein Sieg her und so gewinnen die White Stripes klar mit 6:2 gegen P18! Ändert aber nichts daran, dass sie draußen sind.
Gruppe Album B: Daft Punk - "Alive 2007" vs. 65daysofstatic - "The Destruction Of Small Ideas"
Viel spannender dagegen dieses Duell, ob sich französischer House oder Math-Rock in die Endrunde spielt. Am Ende war es dann klar - und klarer als gedacht. 9:1 für 65dos und Daft Punk gehen baden!
Gruppe Album C: Nightwish - "Dark Passion Play" vs. the GazettE - "STACKED RUBBISH"
Ich habe ja nicht gedacht, dass Nightwish so schlecht hier abschneiden, aber dass sie sogar gegen the GazettE verlieren, ist wirklich überraschend. 2:3 ist zwar nicht deutlich, aber dennoch eine Niederlage!
Gruppe Album C: Wir Sind Helden - "Soundso" vs. Fall Out Boy - "Infinity on High"
Und auch hier gibt es um Platz 2 eine Entscheidung: Und sie fällt nicht positiv für die Deutschen aus, denn die Helden müssen sich dem kleinen Freund von Radioactive Man geschlagen geben mit 4:5! Fall Out Boy in der Endrunde! Ohauaha!
Gruppe Album D: Maximum the Hormone - "Buiikikaesu" vs. Enter Shikari - "Take to the Skies"
Immerhin eine Stimme für Maximum the Hormone - und die kam auch noch von mir, so maßlos enttäuscht war ich vom Enter Shikari-Album :D Ändert dennoch nichts an ihrem Sieg, mit 4:1 gewinnen sie gegen die Japaner.
Gruppe Album D: Foo Fighters - "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" vs. she - "days"
Erneut ein Duell um Platz 2 und ein wenig überraschend setzt sich nicht Geheimtipp she, sondern Dave Grohls Band durch. Mit 6:3 ziehen die Foo Fighters in die Endrunde ein! Surprise!
Gruppe Album E: Timbaland - "Timbaland Presents: Shock Value" vs. Kate Nash - "Made Of Bricks"
Kate Nash lässt absolut nichts anbrennen und beendet alle Träume von Timbaland. Mit 8:3 ruft die Endrunde und Timbaland bleibt wo er ist.
Gruppe Album E: Subway To Sally - "Bastard" vs. Paradise Lost - "In Requiem"
Und einen knappen Achtungserfolg gibt es für den Bastard. Mit 4:3 setzen sich Subway To Sally gegen Paradise Lost durch.
Gruppe Album F: Dream Theater - "Systematic Chaos" vs. Klaxons - "Myths of the Near Future"
In der letzten Gruppe hängt alles von den Klaxons ab, die es selbst in der Hand haben. Gewinnen sie, ist das Duell von den Ärzten und Tankian irrelevant - und in der Tat, das ist es nach dem 8:4-Erfolg!

Wesentlich knapper wurde es dann im zweiten Duell, denn es gab ein heißes Kopf-an-Kopf-Rennen. Jedoch kann es nur einen Sieger geben und der heißt Maxïmo Park, die mit 6:5 gewinnen.

Zu Beginn lief es gut für die Klaxons, am Ende ziehen Nine Inch Nails allerdings davon. Knapp allerdings, nur 8:6.

Im zweiten Halbfinale gab es gleich viele Stimmen, aber die Verteilung ist minimal anders, denn die Gewinnerband setzt sich mit 7 zu 5 zu 4 Stimmen durch. Diese Gewichtung verschafft dem zweiten Favoriten Arcade Fire den Sprung in den Main Event.
Somit haben wir also das erwartete Duell der Giganten. Kaum Überraschungen bei den Alben und somit steht uns ein gewaltiges Match bevor. Wer wird euer...

Und auch hier endet die Wahl - im Gegensatz zu den Songs mit den beiden Favoriten erster Klasse. Radiohead gegen Arcade Fire. Eine klare Entscheidung gibt es auch hier zugunsten der viralen Art, welche sich auch NIN zuwenden:

Subjektiv gefielen mir zwar andere Alben besser, aber es war abzusehen, dass sich Radiohead durchsetzen, schließlich ist ihnen in mehrerer Hinsicht ein Geniestreich gelungen.
Es waren tolle Alben im Rennen und ich bedanke mich herzlich bei allen Stamm- und Gelegenheitswählern. Wir sehen uns im nächsten Jahr an der gleichen Stelle wieder. Sammelt schonmal fleißig Alben, die euch gefallen ;)
