Phantasy Star Remake - jetzt doch in Europa?

Laut den News von gamesweb und deren Quelle Eurogamer, können wir Europäer jetzt doch wieder auf ein Remake von alten SEGA Klassikern rechnen. Insbesondere bei der Phantasy Star Reihe, würde ich mich über ein Release sehr freuen aber lest selbst:

Wie das Online-Magazin EuroGamer berichtet, wird Sega im kommenden Jahr 14 Spiele seiner 3D Ages-Reihe auch in Europa veröffentlichen. Bei dieser Serie handelt es sich um leicht angestaubte Klassiker, die auf der PlayStation 2 in neuem Glanz erstrahlen sollen. Den Auftakt bilden im ersten Quartal 2004 'Fantasy Zone', 'Golden Axe', 'Monaco GP', 'Phantasy Star' und 'Space Harrier'.

In Kooperation mit Conspiracy Games sollen später noch neun weitere Titel folgen:

* Streets of Rage
* Phantasy Star II
* Phantasy Star: End of the Millennium
* Gain Ground
* Bonanza Bros.
* Alex Kidd in Miracle World
* Last Bronx
* Virtua Racing
* Columns

Über den Preis der einzelnen Spiele ist noch nichts bekannt - in Japan wanderten die Titel für etwa 20 Euro über die Ladentheke.

Ich jedenfalls, würde mich riesig freuen wenn die Phantasy Star Spiele in verbesserter Version auch nach Europa kommen würden. Das einzige was mir im Moment negativ auffällt ist, das ich Phantasy Star III nicht in der Liste sehe... Teil I, II und "End of the Millenium" (AFAIR ja Teil IV) sind da, aber von Teil III ist nichts zu lesen, wobei sie ihn schon der Vollständigkeit halber veröffentlichen sollten... naja abwarten... ich jedenfalls hoffe weiter ^^

Cool,ich freue mich schon darauf,die PS-Teile werden wohl gekauft,außerdem noch Streets of Rage.;)
Sind Conspiracy Games der Publisher wenn ich das richtige deute?Was haben die hierzulande noch so rausgebracht,ich hoffe das die Version einigermaßen gut angepaßt sind und das es auch Maps usw. gibt,vorallem bei PS2.
Hat jemand Screenshots von Phantasy Star: End of Millenium(also Teil 4),ich hoffe sehr das sie die Kampf und Cut-scene Grafik beibehalten,denn diese rult im Original ziemlich,nur die Field-graphic sieht nicht so toll aus.

Ich hoffe das es wirklich in Europa rauskommt und ich freu mich schon auf die die Teile.

Was ist eigendlich mit Phantasy Star III? Wird der Teil nicht gemacht? Wenn sich es machen dann sollten sie den Stiel des Spiels ein bischen verändern. Den Stiel von Phantasy Star III hab ich nicht gemocht wenn nicht sogar gehasst, denn fast jeder Gegner hat so ein bescheuerten Schlüssel am Rücken (erinnert mich ein wenig an Alundra 2) und die Musik hab ich gehasst deswegen hab ich das Spiel nie richtig lang gespielt aber was ich gehört hab sollt die Storry sehr komplex sein und geht auch über mehrer Generationen und das Spiel hat glaub ich 4 Enden.

Teil III der Reihe liegt wohl ein wenig außerhalb des ganzen, wurde allgemeint nicht als so doll erachtet und es geht das Gerücht um das, das Spiel nicht von der Original Truppe geschrieben worden ist, sondern von einer anderen Truppe um jedes Jahr ein Spiel zu veröffentlichen.

Genau das ist der Grund.
In End of Millenium gibt es zwar in einem der Sidequests einen Hinweis auf den dritten Teil. Streng betrachtet fällt der Titel von der Handlung her gesehen ein wenig aus dem Gesamtrahmen der Teile I, II und IV. Daher ist es imho auch zu verschmerzen, dass es davon kein Remake gibt.

Ich persönlich freu mich über eine Neufassung von PS I und II. Immerhin so würde vor allem die gute Story von PS I noch ein ansehnliches Äußeres erhalten (Wobei die Grafik für das 8 - Bit Master System ziemlich gut war).

Vielleicht kennt es der ein oder andere schon, aber ich habe grad im Netz ein wie ich finde recht lustiges Interview zu Phantasy Star und Phantasy Star Online mit Yuji Naka gefunden. Hoffe es amüsiert euch genauso wie mich ^^... Ich wollte nur deshalb nicht einen extra Thread eröffnen ^^ Aber lest selbst :):

Interview with Yuji Naka

Camineet.net correspondents Mike Ripplinger and JWL were recently given the honor of meeting with Yuji Naka, the head of Sonic Team and producer of Phantasy Star Online. What follows is our conversation.

Q: Phantasy Star games are always ground breaking; in what ways do you feel that PSO accomplished this?

A: Well, PSO is the first console online multiplayer RPG. But I feel that the most ground breaking part of PSO is the RAREZ. We have a game full of RAREZ, yet most players will never find them! It was even better in our expansion, PSOv2, in which we specifically advertised "new RAREZ", and made them even HARDER to find. This method of "Let's intentionally make the players mad" is unprecedented, and I am proud to have pioneered it.

Q: How important are "RAREZ" in PSO?

A: Very. PSO revolves completely around the search for RAREZ. Cooperative play? International communication? They are all secondary to the hunt for RAREZ. In fact, the original slogan for PSO was an expanded version of "You're not the only hero". It was "You're not the only hero... so if you see a RAREZ drop, be prepared to step over your own mother to get to it first".

Q: How do you feel about all of the cheating in PSO?

A: It is very disappointing. I don't know why people think they have to cheat. All you have to do is play for 100,000 hours and you'll find every RAREZ there is.

Q: 100,000 hours? That's actually been a huge complaint about PSO since its release -- it appears you have to play for hundreds, if not thousands, of hours before you find many (or any) of the game's items. Don't you think that expecting a player to play any game for that long is a bit... excessive?

A: I refer you back to your first question about Phantasy Star games being ground breaking. PSO is designed to be the first "lifetime video game." In fact, the observant player will actually see his character age over time. You won't find all the RAREZ until you've played the game for 100,000 hours, which we expect will take the average player 65 years.

Q: Amazing! So characters will actually develop gray hair over time?

A: Yes! Well, male characters anyway. HUnewearls will always remain young and beautiful.

Q: Wonderful transition into our next question. What's your favorite character class in PSO?

A: HUmar is my favorite. HUmar is strong, and can use techniques!

Q: What about Forces?

A: ??? What's a "Force"?

Q: What new character classes can we expect in future versions of PSO?

A: Two new classes that we feel will be the most popular are the HUnaka and NUnewearl. HUnaka is the strongest hunter ever. On level 1, he has 2000 HP and can defeat Ultimate Dark Falz with one hit from a Saber. NUnewearl is the same as a HUnewearl, but naked. In fact, this is a major part of the storyline. Uh, PSO 2 will probably have an "M" rating... if it's not completely banned in the USA.

Q: What are the differences between Japanese, European, and US versions of PSO?

A: There's a European version of PSO?!?

Q: To talk about the old PS series for a moment, what was your favorite part in the production of Phantasy Star II?

A: I especially liked when we planned out that cut scene where Lutz tells Rolf about how he and his master Noah set up the Esper Mansion. Unfortunately, this scene was cut from the final version of the game.

Q: Amazing! Are you serious?

A: Of course. The game was still completely clear even without it. What, you didn't think Lutz was Noah, did you?

Q: The US versions of Phantasy Star were changed a great deal from the original Japanese versions. This has greatly upset a lot of people; what would you say to them?

A: Lighten up.

Q: Back to PSO. PSO's connection to the previous PS games is not very apparent. Is there any relation between PSO and the other PS games?

A: It's called "Phantasy Star", isn't it?

Q: Yes...

A: Then don't be stupid. What do you think this is, Final Fantasy?

Q: The Xbox version of PSO seems to be very expensive to play. How can you justify these high fees?

A: How do you expect me to build a fifty foot statue of Sonic the Hedgehog out of gold without money?

Q: What new enemies will we see in the future of PSO?

A: We are bringing back more classic enemies; "Titan", "Shadow", "Archdragon", and "Dr. Robotnik", just to name a few.

Q: On a personal note, I'd just like to say that we both found PSO a lot of fun. It was great to play online with your friends, and the few rare items we did find were--

A: Ah. You, ahh, played the Japanese import version?

Q: Umm... No. No, we played the American version.

A: The American version. And yet you tell me you found some RAREZ? Next you'll be telling me you actually had Download Quests available. I must leave now. Someone will be losing their job today. This is disgraceful.

Q: Mr. Naka...?

Das kann doch nur ein fake sein. Und wenn nicht, dann war das der letzte Arbeitstag von dem Typen. Es ist zwar witzig zu lesen aber stellenweise stark übertrieben.

Wenn jemand wirklich ein ganz hohes Tier im Sonic Team ist und sich sowas erlaubt und hinterher noch frech wird wird sich entweder im total angesoffenen Zustand interviewen gelassen haben oder vollgepumpt mit Drogen. Anders kann man sich das doch nicht erklären.

Kommen jetzt alle Teile für die PS 2 raus? Ich würde mich freuen, obwohl ich zuhause eine Mega Drive II habe und die Games original hätte. Zumindestens die MD-Episoden. Wurde ausser Grafik und Sound nochwas drastisch verändert?

Also so wie ich es verstanden habe, hat sich bis auf die Grafik und den Sound nichts geändert. Die Games kosten in Japan ja auch umgerechnet nur 20 € von daher ist es schon fair, würde ich sagen. Rauskommen sollen bis jetzt alle Teile bis auf Teil 3, ob SEGA den Teil dann noch nachlegt, um die Reihe komplett zu machen weiß ich nicht, obwohl ich es schon wünschenswert fände.
