Shogun Warriors/Gaiking: Ready The Robots

Das japanische Filmstudio Toei Animation kündigte auf der gerade stattfindenden Tokyo Animation Fare 2010 ein mehr als überraschendes Projekt an,
das auf der Messe großen Beifall fand: eine Realverfilmung der Anime- bzw. Spielzeugserie Gaiking alias Shogun Warriors.

Überraschend ist daran vor allem die Größe des Projekts. Der Film wird die Lightscape-Technologie benutzen, mit der schon die Darsteller-Gesichter in Avatar in die Computer gescannt wurden. Der Film soll unter dem Titel Gaiking in die Kinos kommen. Wenn er ein Erfolg wird, soll die Fortsetzung den Titel Shogun Warriors erhalten. Regie führt Matthew Gratzner, weltweiter Kinostart ist 2012.
