Love and War

Act I: The Ties That Bind

Hallo!

Act I of Love and War is the first installment of my RM2K RPG series. It's an RPG that focuses on story, and particularily, character development. If that sounds like it might be interesting to you, perhaps you could grab it and give it a play. If not, well, sorry! :) To those who do download, I hope it proves worth your while, and I would very much like to hear any feedback you might have.

STORY:

Love and War is a tale taking place on the world of Terra. Ever since the birth of the first nation-state on this world, Terra has been wracked by the scourge of war. Five nations managed to survive throughout the ages, yet it seemed as though with each passing day, humanity slipped closer and closer to self-annihilation.

One man made a difference, however. The youthful Emperor of the Zion Empire, Geraud Valtemond, was this man. A brilliant, honorable, and benevolent monarch, he managed to open the eyes of the leaders of the other nations, showing them what lay ahead if Terra persisted down this road. Through diplomacy and sheer force of will, Lord Geraud created the Commonwealth; an international governing body, comprised of democratically elected representatives and Peacekeeping Forces, which would forever make war a thing of the past.

Three centuries have elapsed, and people have forgotten the lessons of the past. Tensions are rising between nations once again, and it seems as if the Commonwealth is powerless to do anything but watch as its order crumbles. Can one man make a difference, once again?

Welcome to Love and War.

To make things easier for you to read, I'm going to write my reply to you in English.

So, at the time I'm writing this Act I is loading, so I have a little bit of time to say something about your screenshots.
Well, while the mapping on the screenshots is not that much astonishing (it's pretty good, but... yeah, you know what I mean), the last screen really did impress me (I assume that picture was done by you or a friend, wasn't it?)...

Also, I have nothing against the use of RTP-Charsets/Facesets, but I think you should rather stick to one style of Faceset instead of mixing them...

Another good thing I already see in those screenshots are the dialogues... Seems like a witty writer is behind this project *grin*

More stuff to come...

(lol, writing my post on wii xD)

So...you know how to make a good-mapping with the RTP. Nice Screens! But...the last Screen is not from you...at least I think so^^. I will load it down as soon I have my notebook (My PC is out of order because I kicked him xD")

Ah! And please choose another messagebox x__X

Man, it's been ages that I played this game :p
The Maps are bad, that may be true, but I really liked the story so it's one of my favorite game of the english community. I also watched this "minigamemovie" :D with the synchro and that was really funny^^
I really hope you would bring out the second part already, I want to know how the story continues.

FlareShard: Thanks, it's much appreciated. :) It's indeed true, mapping doesn't seem to be LAW's strong suit, but I hope it makes up for it in other areas. Indeed, the artwork was drawn by a friend of mine. Regarding the facesets: I just had so many characters in Davenport, I figured I had to "use them up", so to speak. Someday, I may go back and replace some of them, and fix a few other things up... but that's a lesser priority to getting the next Act out. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy.

Cloud der Ex-Solda: A Wii, eh? Cool! And you say the last screen is not from me? Well, the artwork wasn't drawn by me, but it is from Act I, for sure. You kicked your PC? What did he do to deserve that?! :) Heh on the messagebox, it has been bugging me a bit lately... I may change it in Act II.

P-Games: I'm not exactly sure of what you're saying, but it sounds like you're not interested in the game. That's okay, hope you find something more to your liking next time. :)

~Jack~: Heh heh, "C'est Lavie!" after all! Whenabouts did you play Act I, though? If it was before 2006, you might want to take another look, as I've added a number of things to the older version of Act I (including the proper picture cutscenes, and the subquest of the ruined fort of Ozunhold). Otherwise, glad to hear you enjoyed Act I, I'll keep working away at Act II. :)

I played the original version althoug I downloaded the updated one. I just couldn't get myself to play it again because of other games and it doesn't look like this will change anytime soon^^
So keep on working on part 2, that's what I wanna play ;)

I understand Jack, there are a lot of RM games out there. Some of them are even worth playing! ;) Here's to hoping I'll be back here someday, posting about Act II.

P-Games: I gotcha. :)
