Im Rahmen der Feierlichkeiten des 30. Geburtstags des Phantasy Star-Franchise (am 20. Dezember 1987 erschien der erste Teil) wird ein neues JRPG vorgestellt. Welche Plattform wäre für ein solches Jubiläum geeigneter als - das Smartphone (iOS/Android). :rolleyes:

Es ist immer wieder erschreckend zu sehen wie stiefmütterlich solche Jubiläen mittlerweile angegangen werden. Aber wer weiss, vielleicht wird das Spiel ja sogar gut und später nochmal anderweitig umgesetzt. Wie auch immer, in so ziemlich genau 4 Tagen wissen wir was es mit diesem JRPG auf sich hat.

The story is set in a war-torn planet named “Vanador.” A giant monster named “Idola” wanders this world dominated by sword and sorcery, and the people are spending their days fighting against this monsters who threaten their lives.

In the meanwhile, the god of destruction Darkfarus, who was sealed in ancient times has begun his fateful resurrection. Can the heroes stop the return of Dark Falz? And what is the true identity of Idola, which is considered part of Dark Falz?

We also meet the two protagonists. Stella is a knight who normally hides her beautiful face behind a fully-covering helmet. She is the commander of the Order of the White Sheep that fights Idola. When she wears her helmet, she can act normally, but when she accidentally removes it, her natural super-shy personality comes out.

Yuri is a young man with a strong sense of justice and a direct and honest personality. He lost his parents as a child and was raised as a sailor by an old friend of his father. After a fateful encounter with Stella, he will help her lead the Order of the White Sheep.

The game will feature a large variety of characters, belonging to either “law” or “chaos.”

Shuntaro Tanaka worked on the game as Producer, and also wrote the script and created the world. If you’re not familiar with him, he was Director on the original Valkyria Chronicles and Phantasy Star Online 2. He also worked on Sakura Taisen and its sequel.

Tomomasa Chin will be the Director. He covered the same role on Phantasy Star Online 2es and as Assistant Director on Phantasy Star Online 2. He also worked on Valkyria Chronicles.

Sho Mutsura will be the Art Director. He is known for his work as Lead Artist in Phantasy Star Online 2 and Art Director on the PS Vita version.

The game is a turn-based RPG and it’ll launch in Japan this year. Unsurprisingly, it’ll be free to play with optional purchases.

Pre-registrations are already open, and those who apply will get a five star Kuna from Phantasy Star Online 2 when the game launches.

Haha, bei dem Titel dachte ich schon, das wird eins von diesen 346287640214761739451963254326 Idol-Spielen. Noch mal Glück gehabt. :D

Klingt trotzdem weder gut noch nach Phantasy Star.

Das einzige Phantasy Star was ich gespielt habe war Phantasy Star Online EP 1+2 auf dem Gamecube. Das fand ich cool. Würde hier vielleicht mal reinschauen, aber außer PSO 2 (was hier eh nie erscheinen wird ;____; ) interessiert mich die Serie nicht wirklich.

Hab nur kurz PSO2 und relativ lange PS Zero gespielt. Letzteres wurde aber auf Dauer auch extrem monoton. Bin mal gespannt, was sie aus dem hier machen, wenn's F2P ist, schadet es auf jeden Fall nicht, sich das mal anzugucken.

Die Artworks gefallen mir und grafisch scheint es ja auch nicht so schlecht auszusehen.
Vielleicht schaue ich es mir ja wirklich mal an, ist aber eher unwahrscheinlich.

Und Stella ist super schüchtern ohne Helm? Na, wie lange sie den wohl aufbehalten darf? xD

Gefühlt hat das bisherige Material nichts mit Phantasy Star zu tun (außer Dark Force). Sieht aus wie ein generisches Sword&Sorcery-Fantasy-Spiel. Ich seh nichts von dem dystopischen SciFi-Setting, das die Spiele sonst ausgezeichnet hat. Wieder so ein Fall, wo man ein "Sequel" zu einer Serie entwickelt, das gefühlt nichts mehr mit den anderen Spielen zu tun hat. Fühlt sich schon ein bisschen wie Leichenfledderung an.

Der Witz ist, es erinnert mich eher an die alten 2D-Teile als an alles ab PSO. xD Aber auch nicht wirklich, und ja, trotz ganz nettem Charakterdesign, auch hier null Interesse ... yeeeah.
